About Kirsten Iles Photography

I am a Sussex based fine art photographer specialising in landscapes, nature and heritage.

My work is influenced by my deep love for the wonders of nature and wildlife, the abundant diverse landscapes of the English countryside, and my cherished ancestral connections with Sussex and Kent.

Experience:

I studied fine art and design at Lincoln College of Art before specialising in design and photography at the University of Plymouth (where I was taught by Jem Southam, Professor of Photography and British landscape photographer). I loved exploring the moors and coastline of Devon and Cornwall and spent many hours in the dark room hand printing my images.

My BA Hons dissertation and subsequent studies at the London College of Printing reflected my appreciation for and interest in the artistry and social history of Victorian photography.

I settled in Sussex and most of my images are taken around Hastings and Rye.

I show and sell my work at local exhibitions, artists' fairs and online.
